Centre For Rural Reconstruction And Environment's PledgePage
The aim of this fundraising is to improve access to food processing for a disadvantaged community in Cameroon. This is with the objective of alleviating the suffering of women on food processing to fight malnutrition and hunger, enhancing the health of this community.
We want to raise $6750 for the Tchuma Women’s Farming Group in Bansobi - North West Cameroon. The group is made up of 53 women of which a total of 258 women in this village of 1275 inhabitants will also benefit from it. This is a remote village close to the Cameroon/Nigeria border with no amenities – electricity, water and a market for their farm produce. These women and their children trek 12km to the nearest village, where there is a corn-mill to grind corn into flour for fufu – their staple food or, use the grinding stone in an era of modern technology. We are therefore appealing to well-wishers to donate generously towards alleviating the plight of these women bringing them hope. The money raised would enable us to purchase a Bentall 6Hp diesel grinding mill and also build a store for it. The Centre for Rural Reconstruction and Environment (CRREDEV) is a non-profit (NGO), whose mission is to provide works and services to the disadvantaged and the underprivileged in environmental and development programmes such as: agro-forestry, rural water supplies, child right and gender equality issues.
